WASHINGTON, D.C.– Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26) voiced his support for the "End the Border Catastrophe Act," incorporating essential elements from H.R. 2, the "Secure the Border Act of 2023," a bill he authored and sponsored.

Díaz-Balart criticized the Biden Administration's handling of the border situation, stating, "For more than three years, President Biden and his Administration have sat on their hands and just watched the ongoing crisis at our southern border get worse; ignoring the dangerous implications on the safety and security of the American people and our national security."

Highlighting concerning statistics, the Congressman emphasized, "Since President Biden took office, there have been over 340 individuals on the terrorist watchlist caught trying to cross our southern border, as well as gang members from notorious gangs such as 'Tren de Aragua' who are endangering Americans, including in the district that I represent."

Díaz-Balart underscored the importance of the proposed legislation, stating, "Passage of 'End the Border Catastrophe Act,' is crucial to providing real solutions to restore order at the southern border, defend our national security, and protect minors – all while upholding the rule of law."

The "End the Border Catastrophe Act" aims to address the border crisis and the fentanyl epidemic, which claims approximately 150 American lives daily. It seeks to combat the surge of deadly drugs, criminal gangs, and dangerous individuals entering the country, with a specific focus on protecting unaccompanied children and upholding the rule of law.
