Díaz-Balart announces winner of 2024 Congressional Art Competition

Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26) has announced Natalie Castro, a junior at Youth Co-Op Preparatory High School and a resident of Hialeah, Florida, as the winner of the 26th Congressional District's 2024 Congressional Art Competition, titled "An Artistic Discovery." Natalie's artwork, titled “Great Blue Heron,” was selected from among 100 entries submitted by students from seven participating schools. Natalie’s piece will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol for one year.

Additionally, honorable mentions were awarded to three students, whose artworks will each be displayed for one year in one of our three offices:

Hialeah Gardens High School: Jasmine Rodriguez for “Dream Weaving”

St. John Neumann Catholic High School: Thomas Lund for “Andrea Bocelli”

Miami Springs Senior High School: Zaid Rugama for “Pan y Mas”
