On May 23, 2024, Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26) and Carlos A. Giménez (FL-28), along with Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), announced a press conference to address the Biden Administration's decision to allow Cuban regime operatives to tour TSA facilities at Miami International Airport earlier this week.

The Cuban regime is designated as a State Sponsor of Terrorism. The representatives argue that it should not be invited to view U.S. security areas or receive special treatment at any U.S. airport.

"We need immediate answers on who authorized this visit and why it was authorized," stated the officials in their announcement. "Protecting our national security and the American people must be our top priority."

Participants include:

- Representative Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), Chairman of the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs in the House Appropriations Committee.

- Representative Carlos A. Giménez (FL-28), Chairman of the Subcommittee on Transportation and Maritime Security.

- Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), member of the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

The press conference is scheduled for Friday, May 24, at 12:00 p.m., at Miami International Airport's Concourse F Consular Lounge, Departures Level, near Door 14.
