Rep. Díaz-Balart announces $3 million federal funding for Hialeah safety improvements

Representative Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26) has announced a check presentation ceremony to celebrate the allocation of $3 million in federal funding for safety improvements in Miami-Dade County, specifically within the City of Hialeah. The event is scheduled for Monday, June 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.

The secured funds aim to enhance roadway safety and reduce fatalities and serious injuries. These improvements will focus on increasing visibility for various modes of transportation, including vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, and transit users. This project received financial backing through the Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2024, which was approved by Congress and signed into law by the President on March 9th, 2024.

Congressman Díaz-Balart stated his commitment to addressing local safety concerns: "These funds will be used for construction to improve visibility for all modes of transportation."

Joining him at the event will be Rene Garcia, Commissioner of Miami-Dade County Commission District 13.
