Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart, representing Florida's Republican Party and Chairman of the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Subcommittee, has aligned with fellow lawmakers in condemning the Maduro regime's actions against the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela. The bipartisan group includes Western Hemisphere Subcommittee Chairwoman María Elvira Salazar (R-FL), Ranking Member Joaquin Castro (D-TX), and several other representatives.

The statement from these officials addresses the "Maduro regime’s ongoing siege of the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela," which they describe as a violation of international agreements under the Vienna Conventions. They highlight that six members of María Corina Machado’s team have been residing at the embassy for over eight months due to political persecution. The regime's tactics include cutting off water and electricity to the embassy, described as "inhumane."

The statement calls for international condemnation and demands safe passage for those affected either to Argentina or another destination they choose. It concludes with a call for accountability for Maduro and his accomplices regarding their actions.
