Mario Díaz-Balart discusses EPA appointment and international policy

Mario Díaz-Balart, a longstanding member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida's 26th District, recently shared his views and congratulations through a series of tweets. Díaz-Balart, who has been in office since 2003 after serving in the Florida House of Representatives and Senate, used social media to express support for colleagues and comment on international affairs.

On January 30, 2025, Díaz-Balart extended his congratulations to Lee Zeldin via Twitter. In his tweet, he expressed admiration for Zeldin's patriotism and commitment to environmental protection as he assumes leadership at the Environmental Protection Agency. "Congratulations to my dear friend and former colleague, @epaleezeldin! Lee is a true American patriot who understands the importance of protecting both our environment and the well-being of all Americans."

Later that day, Díaz-Balart wished Speaker Johnson a happy birthday while reflecting on their recent meeting in Doral. He praised Johnson's leadership within the House GOP and emphasized their collaborative efforts toward America's commitments. "Happy birthday, @speakerjohnson! It was a true pleasure hosting you this week in Doral and a real honor to work alongside you in fulfilling @HouseGOP’s commitment to America."

The following day, January 31, 2025, Díaz-Balart addressed issues concerning Venezuela under President Maduro's regime. He called for Maduro to release American hostages without U.S. concessions and criticized past administrations' policies towards Venezuela as weak. "WITH NO U.S. CONCESSIONS, Maduro must relent and release the American hostages... Weak, appeasement-driven policies under Biden-Harris, Obama..."
