Mario Díaz-Balart discusses border policy, school safety bill, and Miami's flower trade

Mario Díaz-Balart, a seasoned U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 26th District since 2003, has shared his views and legislative actions through a series of tweets. His statements cover topics ranging from border security to school safety and economic contributions related to Valentine's Day.

On February 13, 2025, Díaz-Balart expressed concerns over the Biden-Harris Administration's border policies. He stated, "The dangerous Biden-Harris Administration’s open-border policies of the past four years have cost the lives of too many innocent Americans, including Border Patrol agents and law enforcement officers." He further mentioned his support for Representative Ciscomani’s bill H.R. 35.

On February 14, 2025, he announced his involvement in a bipartisan initiative aimed at enhancing school safety. Díaz-Balart tweeted, "I'm proud to co-sponsor this bipartisan school safety bill alongside @RepMoskowitz and @RepTonyGonzales, which simplifies the grant application process for teachers, school administrators, and school districts by now requiring only a single application submission to…"

Later on the same day, Díaz-Balart highlighted Miami's role in the flower industry during Valentine's Day celebrations. He informed his audience that "around 90% of the fresh cut flowers being sold for Valentine's Day in the United States come through Miami via @iflymia."
