Congressional Colombia Caucus Co-Chairs, Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart and Henry Cuellar, have relaunched the Congressional Colombia Caucus in the 119th Congress. They also hosted a meeting with members of the Colombian Congress to discuss mutual interests.

The relationship between the United States and Colombia has been ongoing for over two centuries. As co-chairs, Díaz-Balart and Cuellar aim to strengthen this alliance further. Their focus includes combating narcoterrorism and enhancing security interests for both nations. They also intend to work with Colombian leaders to promote stability, prosperity, and democratic governance.

The Congressional Colombia Caucus was established in 2009 and remains active. Attendees from the Colombian Congress included Senator Efrain Cepeda Sarabia, President of the Colombian Congress, along with Senators Mauricio Gomez Amin, Berenice Bedoya, Lorena Rios, Carlos Jimenez, Juan Carlos Garces, Nicolas Echeverri, Ana Paola Agudelo, Honorio Enríquez, and Representatives Katherine Miranda and Carolina Arbelaez.

Díaz-Balart emphasized the importance of this partnership: "The historic relationship between the U.S.-Colombia cannot be understated." Cuellar added that they look forward to "continuing to combat narcoterrorism" while working on shared goals.
