Mario Díaz-Balart has been a notable figure in politics, holding office in the U.S. Congress since 2003. Prior to his current role, he served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1988 to 1992 and in the Florida Senate from 1992 to 2000. A resident of Miami, Díaz-Balart was born in 1961 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and is a graduate of the University of South Florida.
