Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart, Carlos A. Giménez, and María Elvira Salazar have issued a joint statement commending Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa for his leadership. The three legislators, all from Florida, emphasized Ecuador’s role under Noboa’s administration in strengthening regional security.

“Recognizamos el liderazgo del presidente Daniel Noboa y su firme compromiso con el fortalecimiento de la seguridad y la estabilidad en nuestra región,” the statement reads. They highlighted Ecuador as a strategic partner in the fight against transnational drug trafficking, countering the “influencia maligna de la China comunista,” and addressing illegal fishing activities near the Galapagos Islands.

As Ecuador approaches a significant election on Sunday, April 13, the representatives stressed the importance of maintaining democratic institutions and legal transparency. “Esperamos que nuestros países continúen ampliando la cooperación en materia de defensa y seguridad,” which they believe will bolster joint efforts against regional challenges while upholding shared democratic values.
