Miami Dade College issued the following announcement on Sept. 22.
The lady Sharks volleyball team defeated the Pioneers of Indian River State College in a conference match at the Gibson center gym with a final score of 3-1 on Tuesday evening. The score stood at 25-16, 25-21, 25-21, 25-18.
As a team, MDC posted 58 kills over the Pioneers. Romina Cornelio led the sharks with 18 kills and logged her first double-double with 15 digs. Janelly Ceopa tallied 12 kills and teammate Elena Bianchi struck 10 kills.
Defensively freshman Kiaraliz Perez aided in the sharks win with 26 digs.
