Today, Representative Mario Díaz-Balart from Florida's 26th District announced his meeting with Venezuela's President-elect, Edmundo González Urrutia. The meeting was also attended by Representatives María Elvira Salazar, Carlos A. Giménez, and Mike Waltz, who is set to become the National Security Advisor in the Trump Administration.

Díaz-Balart stated: "It is a true honor and pleasure to meet with President-elect Edmundo González Urrutia, where we reaffirmed unwavering support and solidarity for the cause of freedom in Venezuela and for holding Maduro and his thugs accountable for their crimes."

He emphasized the new direction under President Trump: "Under President Trump, America will enter a new era of leadership–one that refuses to appease murderous dictatorships."

He concluded with optimism about Venezuela's future: "The Venezuelan people will be free due to the courage of leaders within the democratic opposition."
