Mario Díaz-Balart, a long-serving U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 26th District, recently shared his views on international relations and humanitarian issues through a series of tweets. Díaz-Balart has been a member of Congress since 2003 and has previously served in the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.

On February 1, 2025, Mario Díaz-Balart made clear his stance on the United States' diplomatic relations with Venezuela. In a tweet posted at 02:28:46 UTC, he stated emphatically that "¡Relaciones bilaterales con Maduro no ocurriran!" He emphasized this position by asserting that "Lo que esto demuestra es el verdadero liderazgo estadounidense."

Reiterating his position in English shortly after, at 02:29:19 UTC, Díaz-Balart tweeted that "Bilateral relations with Maduro are not going to happen!" He added that this situation "shows real American leadership."

Later on the same day at 16:47:59 UTC, Díaz-Balart expressed relief over the release of Keith Siegel from captivity. In his tweet, he described how Siegel was reunited with his family after being held hostage for fifteen months by Hamas terrorists. The post read: "After an agonizing 15 months of brutal captivity at the hands of Hamas terrorists, Keith Siegel is finally reunited with his family including his wife, Aviva Siegel, who was also held hostage for over 50 days." He condemned such acts by stating that "No family should ever have to endure such unspeakable cruelty."
