Miami Dade County issued the following announcement on Nov. 6.
Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava released the following statement on the passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal:
The passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal is a historic milestone for our country and community. This once-in-a-generation investment will create millions of jobs
transforming our infrastructure, tackle the climate crisis by supporting solar and electric energy and green jobs, bring high-speed internet to homes across America to help our
workforce compete for the jobs of the future, and modernize our public transit system nationwide.
My Administration has been doing the important work to prepare Miami-Dade to partner with the federal government to invest these funds into hundreds of shovel-ready resilience
projects that also create good-paying local jobs. These projects will upgrade our infrastructure and fight climate change; advance a SMART plan of transit projects to expand
transportation across our county; bring shore power to Port Miami by 2023; expand a growing network of electric charging stations, and more. We’re ready to put these funds to
work to create new opportunities for thousands of Miami-Dade residents and businesses as we build back our economy stronger than ever.
