Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust is recruiting board members

Armed with a mission to ensure the equitable participation of Blacks in Miami-Dade County's economic growth, Miami-Dade Economic Advocacy Trust (MDEAT) is recruiting board members to its governing body to help the agency create the prosperity that residents deserve. Board members are expected to work diligently to understand the agency's mission, purpose, goals, and programs. Applications are due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21.  

The nomination process is managed through the MDEAT Nominating Council, a separate and independent entity of MDEAT. The nominating council always maintains a fair and open process. Membership is based on the availability of positions and expertise in one of the agency's core service areas.  

Qualified applicants must adhere to the following:  

  • Must be permanent residents, registered voters of Miami-Dade County  
  • Undergo a background screening  
  • Cannot serve on more than two boards created by the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners  
Interested individuals with the time and commitment to meet the demands of the appointment may download an application or pick up an application from the agency during the operating hours of Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at the following location:
