County offices will be closed Monday, Jan.16 in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday.
County Services
- The Pet Adoption and Protection Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16
- Solid Waste Management will not collect curbside garbage or trash Monday, Jan. 16. Recycling will be collected
- Miami‑Dade Libraries will be closed Monday, Jan. 16
- Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a regular schedule
Events
- 46th Annual MLK Parade and Festivites - Monday, Jan. 16
Scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. with the planned 2.5-hour Liberty City route running from Northwest 54th Street and 10th Avenue to 32nd Avenue, the parade follows 8 miles of sacred ground that Dr. King once traveled during his frequent engagements in Miami
- Pre-Parade 5K Run & Fitness Walk
Participate in the annual 5K Run & Fitness Walk, which begins at 8 a.m. at the MLK Plaza Metrorail Station. Runners should arrive for registration between 6:30 and 7:45 a.m.
- MLK Holiday Festival
Following the parade the festivities continue at MLK Memorial Park with live music, dance and theatrical performances, a crafts marketplace, food vendors and children's activities

Volunteer during Miami-Dade Park’s MLK Day of Service to enrich and engage the community at Gwen Cherry Park helping to plant herbs, vegetables, and plants for pollinators
- Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service - Monday, Jan. 16
Join Hands On Miami to recognize the only federal holiday that is a National Day of Service. Join several virtual volunteer opprtunities around the community
