Washington, D.C. - Congressman Mario Díaz-Balart (FL-26), Chairman of the Subcommittee on the Department of State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs of the House Committee on Appropriations, has expressed his strong disapproval of the Biden Administration's decision to allocate billions of taxpayer dollars to an ineffective Climate Change program led by the United Nations.

In a statement, Congressman Díaz-Balart voiced his concerns, stating, "I am appalled that the Biden Administration will pledge billions more of taxpayer dollars, money that Congress has not even provided, to yet another bloated, mismanaged, and ineffective slush fund that will do nothing to change the temperature of the planet."

He further emphasized the financial strain that the United States is currently facing, with a national debt exceeding $33.8 trillion. Díaz-Balart pointed out that amidst pressing and grave foreign policy challenges, allocating additional funds to a failing and economically harmful climate change agenda, spearheaded by clueless bureaucrats at the United Nations, is unjustifiable.

The Congressman's critique of the UN program echoes concerns raised by other lawmakers who believe that the allocation of funds to this program is unnecessary and wasteful. The effectiveness of the program has been questioned, as it does not provide tangible solutions to address climate change.

The Biden Administration's multi-year plan on the Climate Change program has drawn criticism from those who argue that the funds should be redirected to more urgent priorities, particularly in light of the ongoing economic challenges faced by the country.

As the debate surrounding climate change continues, it remains to be seen how the Biden Administration will respond to these concerns, and whether they will reconsider the allocation of taxpayer dollars to the UN program.
