Representative Mario Díaz-Balart of Florida is set to host two special check presentation ceremonies in Collier County, Florida. The events, scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., will mark the funding secured for the Collier County Sheriff policing equipment upgrades and the Collier Area Transit Maintenance Facility.

In a statement, Rep. Díaz-Balart highlighted the importance of the funding for the projects, stating, "The upgrade of the Sheriff's Office vehicle fleet and mobile radios will ensure that law enforcement is equipped with the necessary tools and resources to keep our community safe." The funding will also be used to upgrade the maintenance facility used by the Collier County transit system, which has exceeded its useful life.

The projects in Collier County received funding through the Consolidated Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2024, approved by Congress and signed by the President on March 9th, 2024.

The check presentation ceremonies will feature key figures such as Rep. Mario Díaz-Balart, Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee, Sheriff Kevin Rambosk from the Collier County Sheriff's Office, Chairman Chris Hall from the Collier County Board of County Commissioners, and Amy Patterson, County Manager at the Collier County Board of County Commissioners.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Collier County location at 3299 Tamiami Trail East, Naples, FL 34112. Interested media personnel are required to RSVP to Andrea.Morales@mail.house.gov to attend the ceremony, which will also be live-streamed on the Collier County, Florida Facebook page.
