Mario Díaz-Balart, a longstanding U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 26th District, took to social media to share interactions and concerns regarding both international and local affairs.
On April 8, 2025, Díaz-Balart, co-chair of the bipartisan Latino-Jewish Congressional Caucus, reported joining Representatives Adriano Espaillat and Debbie Wasserman Schultz in a meeting with individuals recently released from captivity and their families. "Como copresidente del Comité Parlamentario Latino-Judío bipartidista del Congreso, me uní a @RepEspaillat y @RepDWStweets en una reunión con los rehenes liberados Keith y Aviva Siegel, Iair Horn, y con familiares de rehenes Ziv y Gali Berman y Evyatar David que siguen siendo liberados," he tweeted.
In another message, posted on the same date, Díaz-Balart mentioned several organizations and entities including American Jewish Committee Global, AJC Latino, and the Embassy of Argentina in the United States, with a succinct @AJCGlobal @AJCLatino @ARGinUSA.
On April 9, 2025, Díaz-Balart extended condolences to those affected by a tragic roof collapse in the Dominican Republic. Expressing sympathy and solidarity, he wrote, "My condolences to the families of those lost and to the victims of the tragic roof collapse in the Dominican Republic. No one expects such an accident, especially in a place meant for fun. My thoughts and prayers are with my Dominican brothers and sisters during this time of...".
Mario Díaz-Balart has had a long political career, having served in Congress since 2003, and prior to that in the Florida legislature. Born in Fort Lauderdale, he graduated from the University of South Florida and currently resides in Miami.
