Of the 21,853 citizens living in Sunny Isles Beach in 2020, 18,441 were old enough to vote as of March 24, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

The bureau reported 10,199 of those people were female and 8,242 were male.

Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2021 will be released later this year.
