WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. María Elvira Salazar (R-FL) welcomed one of Inter Miami CF’s latest hires, Lionel Messi, to Florida’s 27th district on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Argentine football legend Lionel Messi signed onto Miami’s soccer team, Inter Miami, which kicked off its inaugural season in major league soccer three years ago. His presence is already making an impact in the community. Since his start, his presence has already contributed to two major wins in the 2023 Leagues Cup.
Lionel Messi is a household name in football who was born to humble beginnings in Argentina. Through hard work and determination, he achieved numerous records and accomplishments, including winning the World Cup, winning the Player of the Tournament Award in 2022, and winning the Champions League 4 times.
