On February 7, 2025, Díaz-Balart expressed appreciation for the dedication of the Miami Springs City Council during a meeting focused on transportation issues and future growth. He noted, "It was great to welcome the @MiamiSpringsFL City Council where we discussed areas of collaboration to address transportation issues and future growth."

Later that day, he turned his attention to international matters by highlighting the plight of José Daniel Ferrer, a Cuban dissident leader. In a post made at 20:53 UTC, Díaz-Balart stated, ".@jdanielferrer, the courageous leader who has been tortured, harassed, and incarcerated for decades by the Castro regime, is once again under threat of arrest." He emphasized Ferrer's longstanding persecution by the Cuban government.

In a subsequent post at 20:58 UTC on February 7th, Díaz-Balart reiterated his concern for Ferrer in Spanish. He wrote about Ferrer's ongoing challenges with the Cuban regime: ".@jdanielferrer, el valiente líder que ha sido torturado, acosado y encarcelado durante décadas por el régimen de los Castro."
