On February 12, 2025, Díaz-Balart addressed the situation of Jesús Armas, who he claims is unjustly detained by the Maduro regime. He stated that Armas has been held incommunicado for over 60 days at El Helicoide prison. According to Díaz-Balart, this incident represents "another blatant attack on democracy and human rights in Venezuela." He called for Armas' "immediate and unconditional release" here.
The following day, February 13, 2025, Díaz-Balart shared his experience meeting with journalist Vicky Dávila. In his post in Spanish, he expressed admiration for her courage in confronting the policies of Colombian President Gustavo Petro.
