Mario Díaz-Balart, a seasoned U.S. Congressman representing Florida's 26th District since 2003, has been vocal on social media about issues concerning human rights and political policies in Latin America. His recent posts reflect his ongoing commitment to these topics.

On February 12, 2025, Díaz-Balart addressed the situation of Jesús Armas, who he claims is unjustly detained by the Maduro regime. He stated that Armas has been held incommunicado for over 60 days at El Helicoide prison. According to Díaz-Balart, this incident represents "another blatant attack on democracy and human rights in Venezuela." He called for Armas' "immediate and unconditional release" here.

The following day, February 13, 2025, Díaz-Balart shared his experience meeting with journalist Vicky Dávila. In his post in Spanish, he expressed admiration for her courage in confronting the policies of Colombian President Gustavo Petro. As co-chair of the Congressional Colombia Caucus, Díaz-Balart reiterated his concerns regarding what he perceives as "absurd and harmful leftist policies" of President Petro here.

In a subsequent tweet posted shortly after the previous one on February 13, Díaz-Balart repeated his sentiments in English about meeting with Dávila. He praised her bravery against President Petro's "outlandish and harmful leftist policies" and reaffirmed his stance as co-chair of the Congressional Colombia Caucus by voicing concerns about Petro's "radical, destructive" policies here.
