Representatives Mario Díaz-Balart and Ami Bera, co-chairs of the Congressional Taiwan Caucus, have arrived in Taipei, Taiwan. The purpose of their visit is to reaffirm U.S. support for Taiwan after their recent democratic elections and to demonstrate solidarity in their commitment to shared democratic values.

During their time in Taiwan, the representatives will be meeting with senior officials from the executive branch and business leaders. This trip aims to strengthen the already robust economic and defense relationship between the United States and Taiwan.

"We are here to express our support for Taiwan and to strengthen the ties between our two countries," said Representative Mario Díaz-Balart.

Representative Ami Bera added, "Taiwan is an important ally in the region, and we want to ensure that our partnership remains strong."

The Congressional Taiwan Caucus plays a crucial role in promoting and advocating for the interests of Taiwan in the United States Congress. This visit reflects the caucus's dedication to maintaining a strong relationship with Taiwan and supporting its democratic values.

The visit by the co-chairs of the Congressional Taiwan Caucus is significant as it highlights the U.S. commitment to Taiwan's security and prosperity. It also demonstrates the importance of Taiwan as a strategic partner in the Indo-Pacific region.

The United States has maintained unofficial relations with Taiwan since 1979, following the establishment of diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China. However, the U.S. has consistently supported Taiwan's participation in international organizations and has sold arms to Taiwan as part of the Taiwan Relations Act.

The visit by Representatives Díaz-Balart and Bera serves as a reminder of the strong bond between the United States and Taiwan and the mutual commitment to promoting peace, security, and prosperity in the region.

As the representatives engage with senior officials and business leaders in Taiwan, the trip will provide an opportunity to explore further avenues for cooperation and collaboration between the two countries.

The Congressional Taiwan Caucus co-chairs' visit to Taiwan is a clear indication of the continued support and commitment of the United States to Taiwan. It reinforces the importance of the bilateral relationship and the shared values between the two nations.
